Owners-Augie and Sharon
Veterans of the food and hospitality industry Augie and Sharon bring a lifetime of experience to American Harvest. Between the two they have held virtually every job in the industry from sales representative and line cook to restaurant owner and caterers and everything in between. Their first endeavor was Augie's Front Burner, a downtown Springfield fixture for almost 15 years. They have spent their lives learning the ins and outs of the food business and are always working to find new ways to bring innovative thoughts and ideas to the gourmet community. They take pride in their ability to work together as a team. They always make a point to educate their staff so that they may perform to their greatest abilities and offer the highest quality of service. American Harvest is just another way for Augie and Sharon to show Springfield that they very much so support the community and local farmers and want to couple this passion with their love for simple and seasonal food.
Chefs-The Coffey's
Executive Chef Jordan Coffey and his wife, Aurora are determined to make a name for themselves in the food business. They have developed a personal and professional relationship with Augie and Sharon over the past six years and really become part of the family. Jordan started as a dishwasher fresh out of high school and Aurora as a cashier and through hard work and the willingness to learn they have climbed their way to executive positions. After a two year stint in Chicago, where Jordan worked at two very prestigious restaurants and Aurora graduated top of her class from Robert Morris University, they have returned with one primary goal: to bring a new face to the Springfield culinary scene. They want to bring the idea of farm to table cuisine to a whole other level by pairing that thought process with the idea of a relaxed high quality bar. First and foremost they will tighten their already strong relationships with the local farmers and purveyors. Weekly trips to the famers market will be a way they will keep up with the freshest items to use on their menu. A love for high quality craft beers will accompany their menu choices as a way to harmoniously bring their two passions together. Jordan and Aurora have this to say about American Harvest, "This is a great opportunity for not only Springfield but the Midwest to see all the beautiful products grown right in our backyards. We are thrilled to be able to work with the famers first-hand and develop food we are truly proud of. It means a lot to us to be able to do what we love and share that with our customers. We hope everyone will consider the restaurant as a second home and feel warm and welcomed every time they walk through the doors. We want our guests to know that every time we cook, we are cooking with them in mind."
